Youngstown ~ Cheryl Lynn Thompson, 64, passed away Friday morning, September 18, 2026, at Hospice House, surrounded by her family. She was born April 9, 1962, in Sharon, PA, a daughter of Thomas and Barbara Hughes Thompson.

Cheryl was the oldest of four daughters. She was a graduate of Elgin High School in Marion, OH, and during her final two years of high school studied electrical trades at Tri-Rivers Joint Vocational School. Following in the footsteps of her father, Thomas, Cheryl proudly served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft electrical systems specialist. She later graduated from diesel truck driving school at the top of her class.

Cheryl had a warm, infectious laugh and was a woman not easily forgotten. She found joy in the simple things, loved music, and enjoyed playing pool with her team in the APA pool league. She received many awards throughout her years of playing and worked in the service industry. She was of the Protestant Faith.

Her husband, Michael Brady, whom she married August 21, 1997, preceded her in death on August 27, 2008.

She leaves her mother, Barbara Thompson of Hubbard; four daughters, Tarah (Jason) Johnson of Bluffton, IN, Amy Thompson of Youngstown, Jessica Thompson of Youngstown, and Hayley Misewich of Belleair, FL; two sons, Michael (Amber) Thompson of Hermitage, PA, and Jonathan Thompson of Hubbard; a sister, Jennette (Bill) Sawders of Youngstown; and 18 grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Thompson; her husband, Michael; two sisters, Pamela Meigs and Susan Mayle; and her granddaughter, Jozie Thompson.

Cheryl was cherished and deeply loved by her family. Her warm laugh, her love of music and pool, and the memories she created with the people she loved will remain with them always.

The family has chosen to celebrate Cheryl’s life privately with close family and friends. There are no public calling hours or funeral services.
