Charles Walsh's Obituary


YOUNGSTOWN Charles J. "Chuck" Walsh, 63, was called home to be with the lord Monday morning August 2, 2010 after a battle with cancer. He went to eternal rest peacefully at his residence with his loving wife and daughters by his side.

Mr. Walsh was born May 3, 1947 in Girard, the son of William and Alice Morse Walsh and was a lifelong area resident. He did work as a roofer for many years and most recently worked at YSU on the grounds department for 15 years until he got ill. Chuck was truly loved by many friends for his great personality.

Chuck leaves to cherish his special memories his wife of 29 years, the former Jean A. Jennings, whom he married June 13, 1981; two daughters, Charlette J. Walsh and Sharon A. Walsh both of Youngstown, a brother, Edward Walsh of Niles, a Stepdaughter, Jerri (Scott) McGinnis of Liberty, a stepson, Daniel (Tammy) Smallwood of Hubbard, a brother in law, Donald (Linda) Cotterman of Boardman, a sister in law, Cathy Walsh of Niles. His grandchildren, Joshua McGinnis, Deasia Ramey, Giselle Ramey, Jennifer Smallwood, Daniel J. Smallwood, and Faith R. Mayes. He will also be sadly missed by his best friend of 50 years Frank Luzar and a good friend Mike (Beth) Anderson.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a niece.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
