HUBBARD Charles F. "Fritz" Shipton, Jr., 89, of Hubbard, died Monday evening, February 6, 2006, at Orange Village Care Center. He was born December 13, 1916, in Youngstown, a son of Charles F. Sr. and Sarah Ellis Shipton and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Shipton was a clerk for the U. S. Postal Service for 37 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Coitsville Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon, elder, treasurer and lay minister. Fritz was an avid golfer and bowler, a member of the Over 50 Golf League and played semi-pro baseball.

He leaves his wife, the former Carrie Daniel, whom he married August 6, 1936; a son, Charles F. (Jessie) Shipton III of Evans City, PA; two daughters, Loretta J. (Robert) King of Morehaven, FL and Sarah Emerick of Nichols, NY; three sisters, Beulah Card, Josephine Jeanot and Rose Spalla, all of Tampa, FL; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.

His parents, a daughter, Jeanette Shipton, a grandson, Charles F. Shipton IV and four brothers, Homer, Wayne, Bert and Richard Shipton preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Coitsville Presbyterian Church.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church, prior to the services.
