Cecelia Ashman's Obituary


HUBBARD Cecelia A. Ashman, 90, died Thursday morning at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was born November 10, 1921 in Hubbard, a daughter of Anthony J. and Minnie Ross Madeline Sr., and was a lifelong Hubbard resident with the exception of living in Orlando for 10 years with her grandson.

Mrs. Ashman was a cashier for Patton's Sparkle Market in Hubbard for 15 years before retiring May 18, 1984 and was a member of St. Patrick Church. She loved playing cards, especially pinochle, her and her husband would regularly travel to California and Florida, having made the annual drive to Florida for many years.

Her husband Fred Ashman, whom she married February 25, 1943, died June 28, 1983.

Cecelia leaves a daughter, Barbara A. (Vincent) Perisa of Hubbard; two sisters, Anne (Chester) DeSantis of Hubbard and Barbara Ann Rosile of Campbell; three brothers, Anthony J. (Stella) Madeline Jr. of Hubbard, Philip F. Madeline of California and Thomas J. (Mary Jane) Madeline of South Carolina; three granddaughters, Sue, Pamela and Jennifer and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Jennie Klucher, Mary A. Williams, Marge Ashman and Kay Immekus and a grandson, Vincent Perisa.

Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Family and friends may call on Monday one hour prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Interment will take place at Hubbard Union Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Heritage Manor Nursing Home for the wonderful care Cecelia was given.
