HUBBARD Mrs. Catherine V. Stabile, 84, of Hubbard, died Sunday, January 20, 2002 at Liberty Health Care Center. She was born February 20, 1917 in Youngstown, a daughter of Gaetano and Maria Cassanta Pizzoferrato and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Stabile, a homemaker, was a member of St. Patrick Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society where she served as treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Society, the Youngstown Italiamar Club and served as a cast member in the Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini movie. Catherine was honored by the Hubbard Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons for "Outstanding Volunteer Contributions to the Community".
Her husband, Carl Stabile whom she married May 20, 1937, died May 20, 1946. She leaves two sons, Dr. Robert G. (Dr. Rebecca Kimberly) Stabile of Mayfield, OH and Jack R. (Joyce) Stabile of Hubbard; a daughter, Mary Ann (Donald) Lark of Hermitage, PA; three brothers, Michael Pizzoferrato of Youngstown, James Petrella and Rocco Petrella both of Hubbard; three sisters, Cecelia Halicki and Phyllis Pagley both of Hubbard and Yolanda DeSantis of Aliquippa, PA; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A brother, Joseph Pizzoferrato and a sister, Concetta Petrella are deceased.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12:30 PM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 1:00 PM at St. Patrick Church, Hubbard.
