MASURY Catherine Popa, 84, died Saturday evening, February 14, 2009, at her residence. She was born February 13, 1925, in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of Wassil and Eva Sitch and was a life long area resident.
Mrs. Popa, a homemaker, was a member of St. John Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sharon, where she was in the choir and the Mother and Daughter Sisterhood. She enjoyed flower gardening, singing, cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, George R. Popa, whom she married June 7, 1947, died August 5, 2002. She leaves a son, Robert C. (Brenda) Popa of Poland; one daughter, Donna J. (David) Ferrara of Masury; four grandchildren, Dom, Leah, Nikki and Dan and two great grandchildren, Kiersten and Scout.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Hazuda and Ann Serbic and two brothers, Michael and John Sitch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm.
Burial will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
