LOWELLVILLE Carmen Gonzalez, 81, of Lowellville, died on Wednesday morning, October 17, 2007, at the Assumption Village. She was born on July 16, 1926, in Lares, Puerto Rico, a daughter of Benito and Juana Negron Vargas and lived in the United States for 52 years.
Mrs. Gonzalez, a homemaker, was a member of St. Rose De Lima Church and its Legion of Mary and Cursillos and a member of the Sons of Boringuen, where she was Mother of the Year for 1983.
Her husband, Pablo Gonzalez, whom she married on June 24, 1948, died on June 26, 1989.
She leaves two sons, Pablo (Vicki) Gonzalez, Jr. of Lowellville and Joe (Janice) Gonzalez of Boardman; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband, were 15 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Victory Christian Center in Lowellville.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church, prior to the service.
