YOUNGSTOWN Bruce B. Lanning, 81, died Sunday morning, January 13, 2008, at his home. He was born February 15, 1926, in Barberton, OH, a son of Lynn and Ruth Lanning and lived most of his life in this area.
Mr. Lanning was a minister and involved with many different churches and ministries in the area. He enjoyed crafts, needlework and studying the Bible and served with the Army.
He leaves his wife, the former Rosemary Shingleton, whom he married February 2, 1947; three sons, Kenneth M. (Rhonda) Lanning of Lorain, OH, Donald B. (Hannah) Lanning of Youngstown and David L. (Karen) Lanning of Akron, OH; two daughters, Joanne M. (Bill) Lambert of Akron, OH and Betty R. (Jeff) Busse of Youngstown; one brother, Rodney (Sandy) Speck of Lancaster, CA; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, James B. Lanning, a grandson, Richard C. Lanning, a brother, Maynard Lanning and two sisters, Della Michaels and Arlene Coltrain.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
