HUBBARD Bruce C. Currie, 90 of Hubbard died Monday morning, December 15, 2003, at Briarfield at Ashley Circle. He was born October 20, 1913, in Brownsville, VT a son of Clement and Clara Nelson Currie and lived most of his life in this area.

Mr. Currie worked for the Westinghouse Electric Corp, Sharon, PA for 40 years retiring in 1976. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Bruce was a past president and member of the Spring Hills Club in Hubbard for many years, the Hubbard VFW Post 3767, where he served as Quartermaster for 10 years, the Northside Club and The Brothers Club. He also was a 34-year member of the Hubbard Park and Recreation Board, a member of the Westinghouse Park and Recreation Board and played Santa Claus in Hubbard for 40 years. An avid sports enthusiast, he founded the Hoyle Basketball Tournament in Sharon, PA. He served with the Army in World War II.

He leaves his wife, the former Sally White, whom he married October 12, 1940; one son, Bradley W. (Rhoda) Currie of Hubbard; four grandchildren Pamela S. Brooker of Westerville, OH, Kimberly J. Swain and Jennifer K. Currie, both of Hubbard and Bradley Currie of New Castle, PA and three great grandchildren, Ashton Brooker, Alexandra Brooker and Grace Currie .

His parents, a son, Bruce Currie, a sister, Pauline Carlton and a brother, Larry Currie are deceased.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, 5 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
