Bernard Macskimming's Obituary


HUBBARD Bernard A."Bernie" MacSkimming, 60, died Sunday evening at the Hospice House. He was born October 9, 1948 in Youngstown, a son of Thomas and Marian DelBane MacSkimming and was a life long Hubbard resident.

Mr. MacSkimming was a truck driver for Roadway Express for 10 years retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Corner House Christian Church, serving as an elder. Bernie served with the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 24 for over 25 years.

He leaves his mother, Marian MacSkimming of Youngstown; his wife, the former, Margaret "Peg" Michalovic, whom he married January 22, 1983; a son, Bernard A. "Scott" MacSkimming Jr. of Ohio; two daughters, Gwen M. (Michael) Cole of Binghamton, NY, Lisa M. (Eric) Soroka of Hubbard; a brother, Thomas MacSkimming of Wellsville, PA; two sisters, Sally Seaman of Scottsdale AZ, Claudia Stranacher of Camp Hill, PA; three grandchildren, Breanna, Rosie and Ryan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas and step mother, Leona MacSkimming; a brother, Harold "Hally" Seaman and a sister, Jackie Volpe.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday 11:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

Friends and family call on Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
