HUBBARD Beatrice M. "Bea" Griffith, 78, of Hubbard, died Wednesday morning, January 4, 2006, at her residence. She was born May 18, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of Gail Winwood Dunmire and was a life long area resident living in Hubbard for 44 years.
Bea, a homemaker, had worked as a waitress at the former Longo's Restaurant in Hubbard and the Union 76 Truck Stop in Austintown.
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Temple in Campbell and as an avid reader, she would read several newspapers daily. She enjoyed listening to her shortwave radio and loved animals, caring for stray and abandoned dogs. Bea lived with her companion, Ivy, a loyal black Lab, taking her along everywhere she went.
Her husband, David E. Griffith Sr., whom she married November 11, 1961, died January 5, 1994. She leaves three sons, David E. (Ruth Ann) Griffith Jr. of Hubbard, Ross E. (Ellen) Griffith and William B. Ackworth, both of Orlando, FL; one daughter, Gail (Richard) Hassler of Girard; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband and mother preceded her in death.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
There are no calling hours.
Arrangements were handled by the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
