COITSVILLE TWP Barbara J. Shives, 80, died Friday morning December 16, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born May 5, 1936 in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph and Bertha Thomas Jarko.

Mrs. Shives worked for GE in Youngstown for 13 years, retiring in 1985. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed flowers, gardening and feeding the birds.

Her husband, Harold Shives, whom she married August 11, 1956, died October 18, 2016.

She leaves one son, Harold (Karen Tocco) Shives of Struthers; one daughter, Debra Shives of Hubbard; one sister, Jo-Ann Rotz of Struthers and one brother, Gary West of Niles;

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold; her beloved aunt, Katherine Limpose who raised her and one sister, Delores Oliver.

There are no calling hours or funeral services.

A caring cremation has taken place under the direction of the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.

Barbara's final resting place will be at Churchill Cemetery.
