Hubbard, Anthony J. "Tony" DelBane, 79, of Hubbard, died Thursday evening, September 25, 2003 at Sharon Regional Health Center. He was born May 18, 1924 in Hubbard, a son of Michael and Frances DelBene, and was a life long area resident.
Mr. DelBane was employed by the City of Hubbard , retiring in 1989. He was formerly employed by Consolidated Freight Ways as a truck driver, and was the owner of Madeline's Dairy for twenty years. He was a member of ARCA Association, Nascar racing and also worked at Daytona International Speedway. He was a pit steward for Sharon Speedway, Canfield Speedway and Raceway 7 Speedway.
He leaves his wife, the former Margaret Bobovnyik, whom he married June 14, 1944; three sons, Mike (Carol), of Hubbard, Denny (Carol), of Mayfield Heights, and Bob (Andrea), of Hubbard; two daughters, Kathy DelBane and Patti Smith, both of Hubbard; one sister, Marian MacSkimming of Youngstown; six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
His parents, four brothers, Frank, Joe, Luke and Louie DelBane, three sisters, Lena Mozzilo, Mary Anderson, and Rosemary DelBane preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 10:15 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard and 11:00 AM at St. Bernadette's Church, Masury.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
