HUBBARD Mr. Amato Altier, 80, of Bell Wick Rd. SE died Wednesday evening, October 3, 2001, at his home. He was born March 7, 1921 in Youngstown, a son of Julian and Josephine Dominic Altier and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Altier, also known as Matt, worked for Republic Steel for 35 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard. He was a 1939 graduate of South High School and attended Youngstown College for two years. Mr. Altier served with the United States Navy during World War II as a pilot flying the Corsair airplane. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union Local 1331.

His first wife, the former Mary Lee Puckett, whom he married June 27, 1946, died November 5, 1962; his second wife, the former Jane E. Grim Wilkerson, whom he married April 8, 1972, died November 22, 1994. He leaves a daughter, Constance M. Hively of Canfield, OH; his fiancée, Jeanne Bruce of Hubbard; a brother, Vincent Altier of Akron, a sister, Eleanor Fiorito of Youngstown and two grandchildren, James A. Yoder of Boardman and Kacie L. Yoder of Cincinnati, OH. A brother John Altier is deceased.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 9:30 AM at St. Patrick Church, Hubbard.

Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Friday 5 to 8 PM.
