HUBBARD Alice C. Bortmas, 92, of Hubbard, died Thursday evening, July 27, 2006, at Briarfield @ The Ridge in Mineral Ridge. She was born October 11, 1913, in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of William G. and Mamie Murtaugh Harper and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Bortmas was a homemaker and attended the Covenant Life Fellowship Church in Hubbard. Alice enjoyed bowling and swimming.

Her husband, James "Roy" Bortmas, whom she married on May 17, 1940, died on October 9, 2002.

She leaves a son, Ronald E. (Charlotte) Bortmas of Weddington, NC; a daughter, Tammy L. (Fred) Gudzinas of Hubbard; two sisters, Charlotte Wiesen of Masury and Margaret Kinder of Cleveland, TX; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, besides her husband, were her parents, a daughter, Ruth Bortmas, three brothers, William Harper, Earl Edwards and Thomas Edwards and three children died in infancy, Joseph, Marcil and Margaret.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard, where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services.
