Obituary


HUBBARD Alan L. "Big Al" Pace Sr., 69, died Friday morning October 2, 2015 at his home. He was born May 5, 1946 in Painesville, OH, a son of Challie Elliott and Dixie Mae Hutchinson Pace and had lived in Hubbard for 8 years, coming from New York.

Mr. Pace served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Windham American Legion Post No. 674. He did maintenance work for Simco Management for 8 years, and previously was a carpenter for Glory B. Realty in Newburgh, NY for several years. Big Al enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, watching sports, loved playing his guitar and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

He leaves his wife of more than 44 years, the former Calla M. Bright, whom he married March 5, 1971; two sons, Alan L. (Sara) Pace Jr. of Rolesville, NC and Jerry W. (Cara) McCurry of Louisville, OH; three daughters, Kimberly A. (Mike) Rosscup of Newburgh, NY, Alberta L. Pace of Meadville, PA and Rhonda K. Russitano of Carey, NC; 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James D. McCurry, a great granddaughter, Adelynn J. Rosscup; 1 brother and 2 sisters.

There are no calling hours or funeral services.
